    The following Medium Irrigation Projects are in progress in Adilabad District

    1. Suddavagu Project :

    The Suddavagu Project is under construction across the Suddavagu river near the Bhainsa village, Bhainsa (M) to create a total I.P. of 14,000 acres in the district of Adilabad. The estimate cost of the project in Rs. 48.69 Crores and an amount of Rs. 40.70 Crores is spent. The project is programmed to be completed by 6/2004.

    2. Palvai Purushotham Rao Project (Yerravagu Project) :

    The Palvai Purushotham Rao Project is under construction across the Yerravagu near the Kolwada village, Dehagaon (M) to create a total I.P. of 11,150 acres in the district of Adilabad. The estimate cost of the project in Rs. 35.58 Crores and an amount of Rs. 37.30 Crores is spent and created an ayacut of 9,000 acres in 2004.

    C. Minor Irrigation Projects :

     23 Schemes are under execution to benefit an ayacut of 36,232 acres in the following Mandals.

    III. CONTEMPLATED PROJECTS:

    A. Major Projects:

    1. Lower Penganga Project :

    The project is proposed to construct across the river Penganga at Chilkalwadi Village, Yeotmal District Maharastra state at an estimated cost of Rs.1284 Crores to create an IP of 2,37,600 Acres in the districts of Maharstra (40,000Acres), Adilabad District. The detailed Investigation of the Project programmed to be completed by 3/ 2006. The required clearances and Land Acquisition are expected to be completed by 2006 year. A.P. Share is Rs. 138 Crores (SSR1998-99)
    2.Pranahita Lift Irrigation Scheme:

     The project is proposed to construct across the river Pranahita at Tumri village, Adilabad District at an estimated cost of Rs. 210.00 Crores to create and IP of 50,000 Acres in the district of Adilabad. The detailed investigation of the Project is in progress and programmed to be completed by ________ month _______ year. The required clearances are expected to be completed by 12/2004. Feasibility report submitted to Government for according approval of the scheme.

    3.SRSP stage– II (Extension of Saraswathi Canal) :

    The project is proposed to extend SARASWATHI CANAL at an estimated cost of Rs. 125 Crores to create and IP of 58000 acres in the district of). The detailed investigation of the project is in progress and programmed to be completed by ________ month. This proposals is now included in Yellampally Barrage.

    4. Yellamapally Barrage:

    The project is proposed to construct across the river Godavari (V) Yellampally (M), Karimnagar District at an estimate cost of Rs. 5,300 Crores to create an I.P. of 4.98 Lakhs acres in the District of Adilabad (0.58 Lakhs Acres) Warangal, Khammam (4.40 Lakhs Acres). The detailed investigation of the Project is completed and programmed to be completed by September month 2008 year. The required clearances and Land Acquisition are expected to be completed by March, 2005.

    B. Medium Irrigation Projects:

    1.Mathadivagu:

    The Mathadi-vagu project is proposed to construct across the river Godavari at Waddadi Village, Thamsi Mandal, Adilabad District at an estimated cost of Rs. 26.44 Crores to create an IP of 8,500 Acres in the districts of Adilabad The detailed Investigation of the Project is in progress and programmed to be completed by October 2004. The required clearances and Land Acquisition are expected to be completed by 2004.

    2.Peddavagu at Jagannathur (diversion scheme):

     The project is proposed to construct across the river Peddavagu at Jagannathapur Village Adilabad District at an estimated cost of Rs. 54.00 Crores to create an IP of 15,000 Acres in the districts of Adilabad (15,000 Acres). The detailed Investigation of the Project is in progress and programmed to be completed by March month, 2004 year. The required clearance and Land Acquisition are expected to be completed by December, 2004 year.

    3.Komarambheem Project :

    The Sri. Komaram Bheem Project is contemplated across the Peddavagu River / Stream, which is a tributary to the Godavari River. The Project is planned to utilize 7.424 TMC of the available water and the Reservoir Storage Capacity is assessed to be 10.393 TMC (gross) and 9.086 TMC (net).

     The project is located near the Ada village, Asifabad Mandal, Adilabad District and is envisaged to irrigate a total ayacut of 24,500 1.Adilabad (Acres ) and provides drinking water to 42 villages in the 4 mandals and Adilabad Districts.

    The estimated cost of the project is Rupees 158.00 Crores (SSR of 2001 - 02 year. It is planned to take up the scheme in two phases . In the first phase it is programmed to take up the following works at an estimated cost of Rs 75.00 Crores.

    1 Up to Crest Level

    2 The Detailed Investigation is completed. The Detailed Project Report is completed. Required Clearances like TAC, EIA, EMP, R&R have been obtained. The total land to be acquired is 2320 acres and is programmed to acquire by ____________ Month of ______________ year.

     An amount of Rs. 5.50 Crores is provided for the year 2003 -04 irrigation to following works;.

    1 L.A. and R & R

    2 Forming Earth bund

    4.Gollavagu Project:

    The project is proposed to construct across the river Gollavagu at Bheemaram (V), Adilabad District at an estimated cost of Rs. 35.00 Crores to create an IP of 9,500 acres in the District of Adilabad. The detailed investigation of the Project is completed. The required clearances and Land Acquisition are excepted to be completed by 2004 year.

    5.Peddavagu Project(NILWAI):

    The project is proposed to construct across the river Peddavagu at Nilwai (V), Adilabad District at an estimated cost of Rs. 48.90 Crores to create an IP of 13,000 acres in the district of Adilabad. The detailed investigation of the Project is completed. The required clearances and Land Acquisition are expected to be completed by 2004 year.

    6.Reservoir Across Barkagudem Project:

    The project is proposed to construct across the river Barkagudemvagu at Babasagar (V) Adilabad District at an estimated cost of Rs. 30.00 Crores to create an IP of 10,000 acres in the district of Adilabad. The detailed investigation of the Project is in progress and programmed to be completed by April month 2004 year. The required clearances and Land Acquisition are expected to be completed by 2005 year.

    7.Peddavagu Project (Dasnapur):

    The project is proposed to construct across the river Peddavagu at Dasnapur (V), Adilabad District at an estimated cost of Rs. _________ Crores to create an IP of 9,000 acres in the district of Adilabad. The detailed investigation of the Project is to be completed by June month 2004 year. The required clearances and Land Acquisition are expected to be completed by 2006 year.

    8.Peddavagu Diversion Scheme:

    The project is proposed to construct across the river Peddavagu at Jagannathpur (V), Adilabad District at an estimated cost of Rs. 60.00 Crores to create an IP of __________acres in the district of Adilabad. The detailed investigation of the Project is to completed_______ month 2005-06 year. The required clearances and Land Acquisition are expected to be completed by 2005-06 year.

    9.Ralivagu Project:

    The project is proposed to construct across the river Ralivagu at Mulkala (V), Adilabad District at an estimated cost of Rs. 26.75 Crores to create an IP of 6,000 acres in the district of Adilabad. The detailed investigation of the Project is completed. The required clearances and Land Acquisition are expected to be completed by 2004 year.

    C.Minor Irrigation Project:

     43 Nos. of Schemes are contemplated for benefiting an ayacut of 40,797 acres.

     Breach closing works:

    Out of 17 no of breaches occurred, 15 no of breaches are closed at a cost of Rs.162.00 and balance are programmed to complete by June / 04.

     TSP:

    4 No of schemes, costing Rs.143.55 Lakhs are proposed to be taken up under TSP to benefit an ayacut of 575 acres.

     SCP:

    2 No of schemes, costing Rs.37.45 Lakhs are proposed to be taken up under SCP to benefit an ayacut of 180 acres.
