    II. ONGOING PROJECTS:

    A. Major Projects

    1. Vamsadhara Project Stage I (LMC):

     The project is under construction, across the river vamsadhara near Gotta village, Hiramandalam Mandal to create a total IP of 1,48,230 Acres in the district of Srikakulam. The estimated cost of the Project is Rs.8.78 Crores and an amount of Rs.107.61 Crores is spent and created an ayacut of 1,47,936 Acres (03/2003).

    2.Vamsadhara Project Stage II Phase I of Stage II (RMC):

     The project is under construction, across the river Vamsadhara near Gotta village, Hiramandalam Mandal to create a total IP of 62,280 acres in the district of Srikakulam. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 123.936 Crores and an amount of Rs. 37.125 Crores is spent and created an ayacut of 19,858 acres (03/2003).

    B. Medium Irrigation Projects:

    1.Madduvalasa:

    The project is under construction, across the river Suvarnamukhi near Madduvalasa village, Vangar Mandal to create a total IP of 24,700 acres in the district of Srikakulam. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 8.47 Crores and an amount of Rs. 120.80 Crores is spent and created an ayacut of 11,900 acres (03/2003).

    C. Minor Irrigatiion Projects:

    2 Schemes are under execution to benefit an ayacut of 3387 acres in the following mandals.

    III. CONTEMPLATED PROJECTS:

    A. Major Projects:

    1. Vamsadhara Project – Phase II of Stage II:

     The project is proposed to construct across the river Vamsadhara near Neradi village, Srikakulam District at an estimated cost of Rs.739 Crores (99-2000) to create a total IP of 45000 acres in the district of Srikakulam. The detailed Investigation of the Project is in progress and programmed to be completed after obtaining the concurrence of Orissa and clearance from C.W.C. –

    2. Thotapally Barrage Project:

    The project is proposed to construct across the river Nagavali at Thotapally Village, Vizianagaram District at an estimated cost of Rs. 415.87 Crores to create an IP of 1,84,000 Acres in the districts of Vizianagaram (71,111 Acres), Srikakulam (1,12,889 Acres). The detailed investigation of the Project is completed. The required clearances are expected to be completed by 2/2004 year.
